I have experience in cultural management and academic leadership. I have held curatorial positions at a number of public institutions, including the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Barbican Art Gallery, Institute for Contemporary Arts (ICA) and Art on the Underground.

I am the co-author (with David Hodge) of The Contemporary Art Book (Goodman, 2009 and 2011) and Contemporary Art: 200 of the World’s Most Groundbreaking Artists (Goodman, 2013). My research interests include arts funding, arts management, instrumental cultural policy and cultural value, and I lecture widely on these topics.

I hold an MA in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art in London, and a BA in English Literature from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.

I am the Course Leader of MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise at Central Saint Martins.
