Dr. Joan McLatchie
Dr Joan McLatchie, Deputy Programme Leader & Lecturer in International Festival & Event Management, Edinburgh Napier University.
Joan McLatchie is the Deputy Programme Leader of Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in International Festival & Event Management at HKU SPACE. Joan is a Senior Lecturer in the Business School, within the Tourism subject group. She delivers a range of subjects across the school, and has a specific interest in Learning, Teaching & Assessment. Joan sits on the Business School’s LTA Committee. She also teaches in Hong Kong, Switzerland and India on the university’s transnational programmes.
Joan spent seven years working in Hospitality Management, later moving into Training and Development within the tourism industry. She then worked as a self-employed training consultant for a number of years, before becoming a full-time lecturer at Edinburgh Napier, initially in the HRM subject group, then in Hospitality & Events.
Joan is a member of the Teaching Fellow community, with a special interest in staff development and transnational collaboration. She sits on the Teaching Fellow Steering Committee. Joan is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
