International College 15th Anniversary
The year of 2018 marks a significant milestone in the development of HKU SPACE International College as it marches into its 15th anniversary.
With the motto “Education with a Global Vision”, the College was set up in 2003 to offer full-time degree programmes in collaboration with world-class universities in the UK and Australia, including the University of London and the University of Western Australia, to provide undergraduate education for sub-degree graduates in Hong Kong.
Over the past 15 years, the College has grown significantly through establishing new partnership with world-renowned top-ranking universities, and the suite of programmes it offers has expanded from top-up to full three-year programmes, as well as from undergraduate to postgraduate studies.
Every care has been taken to ensure the best interest of students are met. The College endeavors to provide quality education to not only young sub-degree, HKDSE and IB graduates, but also the more mature working executives and professionals who are constantly looking for quality learning opportunities to fulfill their personal interest and enhance their career development. One example is the executive courses the College offers in collaboration with reputable overseas partners such as Central Saint Martins at University of the Arts London. Led by experienced academics and practitioners from the UK, the executive courses offer inspiring and stimulating practice-based insights and allow excellent opportunities for its participants to build networks with people of similar caliber and interests from across the region. Equal emphasis has been put on local relevancy, combining global leading research and practice with local experience which will enable the utilization of context and perspective when making business decisions.
New ventures in 2018 including a new three-year Bachelor honours degree programme in Contemporary Media Cultures, to be launched in September 2018 in collaboration with University of the Arts London (UAL). Together with the existing University of London programmes in Accounting, Finance and Management, the College continues to offer quality education for secondary school leavers and sub-degree holders to do their undergraduate studies at top-ranking overseas universities here in Hong Kong.
The College is strongly committed to providing quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in partnership with other leading global universities and will continue to be vigorous and proactive in recognising new needs and developing affordable and appropriate programmes for its many target markets in the years to come.
